Uniterm™ is a universally adaptable, factory programmed, tested and calibrated terminal VAV air unit that delivers superior comfort and control at reduced operating costs for commercial building applications. Because the digital network employs BACnet standard communications protocol, the Uniterm™ is a "plug & play" device as it can be applied as stand-alone unit(s), or in any BACnet standard control environment. Approximately the size of a standard laser printer, Uniterm™ is installed in the ceiling, directly over the workstation it serves. Uniterm™ optimizes building energy system operation at three levels. At the User level, Uniterm™ optimizes the operation of primary and supplementary heating/cooling resources to meet the personal comfort needs of each individual's working environment. At the Building level it optimizes the operation of the central energy conversion systems (fans, boilers and chillers) in the delivery heating, ventilation, air conditioning to building zones. At the Comfort Network level, it allows buildings to be aggregated for network services such as real-time pricing of energy for fuel purchase, direct tenant billing, and proactive system maintenance.

Uniterm™ product life is designed for the hardware unit to be fifteen years, and applications software/firmware to be at least five years, with upgrades occurring as new product capabilities can be introduced.
